Michigan Lawyer Rates

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Ken Marlborough A lawyer’s profession is to conduct lawsuits for clients, dispense advice regarding prosecution or defense of lawsuits, legal rights, and obligations in other matters. They are also referred to as comprehending attorneys, counselors, solicitors, barristers, sergeants, and advocates. The rates charged by the lawyers depend on the type of case they take up such as personal injury, accidents, medical malpractices etc. Since each state determines and establishes laws specific to their jurisdiction, people should look for lawyers belonging to specific jurisdiction. Hiring a legal service or a lawyer to represent you can be an expensive deal, hence it is advisable to ask relevant questions to potential attorneys regarding their fees and billing practices. A lawyer’s willingness to discuss fee structure can establish the grounds for a positive professional association, which can be beneficial in the long term, as some court cases tend to get extended for infinite time period. Standard payment arrangements that an attorney may suggest include hourly rates, flat fees, allowance, and conditional fees. Hourly rates are the most common arrangement and may vary depending on the attorney’s experience and operating expenses. For simple and well-defined legal matters such as wills, uncontested divorces or bankruptcy filings, lawyers typically charge a flat fee. Reputed lawyers who give a surety of winning the cases charge high rates. Some lawyers like the contingency lawyers fight cases for free but get a percentage of the settlement money. These are common in automobile and accident litigation, medical malpractice, and other personal injury cases. There are lawyers who do not charge any fees till the consumer recovers the full money. Lawyers, who are talented, dedicated, and resourceful and have a track record of winning every case, are very popular, as they recover the compensation money to be paid by the defendant. Various online websites offer information about lawyers who specialize in domains such as divorce, criminal law, personal injury etc. These sites provide online directories that give details pertaining to area of specialization, fee structure, office staff, and lawyer-client relationship. Michigan Personal Injury Lawyers provides detailed information on Michigan personal injury lawyers, Michigan personal injury lawsuit funding, Michigan personal injury law firms, Michigan personal injury laws and more. Michigan Personal Injury Lawyers is affiliated with Michigan Divorce Lawyers. Arts Marketing : Suggestions for Students and Beginners

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Kathy Iwanowski Many artists create art but when it comes to marketing and selling their work, well, that is another story. It may seem daunting at first but artists can do marketing easily if they just think logically and commit time to the effort. First of all, marketing is not selling, at least not a particular work. It is about selling yourself and the quality of your work, however. If you can develop a self-confidence about that, the rest comes just as naturally. Let us examine just a few simple ways to market your wonderful art and yourself. To do this right, know that you will have to plan on spending at least 50% of your time marketing. That’s right. Marketing 50% and the rest of the time goes towards everything else, including creating the art. Also, you’ll market consistently throughout the year. You continue even when sales are great because one rainy day they might not be and you want to have other options in the pipeline to pursue. Think of your art business as a pipeline or funnel. You always want something in there otherwise there is sputtering and choking like a air in plumbing. That air or gap causes a decrease in your ability to have sales. Keep things moving. Mail out packets to galleries. Send postcards about your next exhibit to past customers. Network and enter business card information on potential prospects into a contact manager program. Always be looking for opportunities to get your name in front of people. Just seeing your name everywhere will cause a buzz for you and your work. At an art show, whether someone is interested in buying or not, develop a relationship, make a connection. That person may not like your art but they find they like you. One day, six weeks, or one year later, they may run into someone or a situation that you and your art would be a perfect match. They pass your name along. That’s called a referral and someday, we all want our business to be 100% referral based, don’t we? Another way to get name recognition and referrals is press releases. Every month, get your name out there with some interesting thing that you are doing. Announce your donations to charitable organizations, sales, new work, or workshops. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Start out easy, small, and simple. Do the best at those things then add on as ability and capability increase. The one thing you cannot do is nothing at all. Get over your fear and start to reap your just rewards. Copyright 2005 Kathy Iwanowski. All Rights Reserved. Fast Weight Loss Diet

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By John Libertate In this day and age, losing weight and having a great body are arguably the two most important topics on everybodys agenda. While weight loss can be a dreaded and very intimidating subject, shedding excess body weight and fat is not as hard as it may seem. Since 2000, the obesity ratings in the United States alone have more than tripled, and studies show the trend doesnt plan on taking a seat on the couch. The average American adult eats fast food three times per month, while the average American child chows down the calorie-rich goods an average of seventy-two times per year, or six times each month. While fast food is indeed fast and easy, it makes shedding pounds a long and difficult task. Diet plans and subscriptions to weight loss clubs are multi-billion dollar industries, however draining your wallet is not always necessary to get in shape and start looking your best. The following is a fast, easy-to-follow weight loss method that only takes a matter of weeks, as opposed to the months of required time on other weight loss plans. With a steady workout three times each week, you can expect to shed almost five pounds per month or more following this proven clinical method. Diet Plan: FOR BREAKFAST: * Half grapefruit or 8 oz. Glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice * 2 eggs: any style (fry your eggs in butter) * 2 slices of bacon * 1 cup of coffee or tea (black) FOR LUNCH: * Half grapefruit or 8 oz. An Introduction to Lanyards

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Seth Miller Lanyards are pieces of rope, wire, or cloth specifically designed to attach to objects. They are typically used to secure small items such as a work badge, key, identification card, eyeglasses, whistle, cell phone, bottle opener, knife, or compass. A lanyard can be worn around the neck, arm, waist or wrist. When worn around the wrist, a lanyard is often referred to as a wristlet. One typical use of a lanyard is to wear it looped around the neck to secure and display an object that is frequently needed. Securing the object with a neck lanyard keeps it readily available for use, provides easy access to the object, and keeps the hands free. In a business environment, many employees choose to wear lanyards around the neck to display an identification badge or secure keys. A lanyard may also be attached to a belt loop to allow the secured object to be tucked into a pocket. There are as many lanyard styles available and there are many uses for them. People who like to differentiate themselves from the norm can have a lanyard custom printed or personalized. A lanyard can be as simple and inexpensive as a 3/8 shoelace style cord or as extravagant as a wire strung with expensive crystals and gemstones. Lanyards are available for purchase through a plethora of suppliers, and many can be found online. The lanyard business is booming, as many large businesses continue to purchase lanyards by the thousands for their employees. Even when custom printed with company names, logos, symbols, or slogans, lanyards are relatively inexpensive. They serve as an effective and convenient source of advertising when worn at trade shows or given away for promotional purposes. Lanyards have become increasingly popular for their ability to keep important objects close at hand while simultaneously keeping hands free. Lanyards Info provides information on printed, custom, beaded, badge, neck, key lanyards, and cell phone accessories and jewelry. Top 5 Mistakes To Avoid When Getting Used Car Auto Loans

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jim_Johnson]Jim Johnson Doing your homework before buying a used car can save you an incredible amount of money, especially since cars are one of the most expensive consumer items anyway. But many are not as well prepared as they should be when they get used car auto loans. For some reason, buyers seem to often let their guard down when it comes time to finance the car that they want, and here is where you can lose more money than almost anywhere else in the deal. So here are the top 5 mistakes that you want to avoid when getting used car auto loans: Mistake #1. Not knowing what your credit score is - Before you even begin shopping for your car, get a copy of your credit report and go over it very carefully. Your credit score will determine to a very large degree how much interest you will have to pay on your car loan. Unfortunately, it’s common to find errors in your credit report that do not work in your favor, so keep up to date on your credit report and get all errors removed immediately to get your best finance deals. Mistake #2. Not getting auto financing in advance - Once you have your credit score and know what kind of interest rate you can qualify for, shop around and line up used car auto loan financing before you visit the dealer or go shopping at all. You may want to visit your local bank that you do business with, or even your credit union as they tend to offer very good loan rates to their members. But don’t forget using the internet to get auto loan approval too. Many of the loan sites on the web are able to give you credit authorization within the same day so it’s quick and easy, and often saves money since you are dealing directly with the lender. Once you have advance financing in place you are now in position to bargain with the dealer on financing instead of just blindly accepting what they offer. Mistake #3. Allowing the dealer to obscure details of the car deal - Car dealers often want to mix up the numbers from all segments of the deal so it becomes confusing and hard to pin down exactly what kind of deal you are getting. Do not let them separate out the three distinct parts of most car deals, (1) the actual cost of the car being bought, (2) the actual amount being allowed for trade-in, and (3) the details of the finance contract if you decide to finance the car through them. Don’t let them get you focused on your monthly payment early in the buying process. Keep financing totally separate until the end and watch everything carefully. Mistake #4. Not going over the finance contract carefully before signing - If you decide to finance through the dealer it’s usually the last step in the process and it’s easy to be tired by this point and just want to get things over. But actually you need to be even more vigilant and review the loan contract thoroughly to be sure that you are getting the finance arrangements that you have bargained for and that no additional items were inserted into the deal that you did not already approve. Mistake #5. Going ahead with a financing deal even when you feel uncomfortable - If you ever start to feel uncomfortable with any part of the sales or financing part of buying your car, just walk away right then. Don’t let yourself be pressured into doing anything that you don’t feel totally comfortable with. Many consumers have been hounded into buying a car that they later regretted because of not heeding this advice. When getting used car loans, if you avoid the mistakes listed above you will be able to go a long way toward making sure that you get the right loan at the right price. Choosing an Online Dating Service

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By Caroline Mackenzie The problem with choosing a dating service is choice — too much of it! There are hundreds of services. To choose a dating service thats right for you, you need to be clear about what exactly youre looking for. As a newcomer to online dating, unfamiliar with all the options, you might be a little hazy on this front. Heres a rundown of the main areas in which dating services differ which will help you draw up a dating service wish list to compare sites to. Relationship options One of the most obvious things to think about when choosing a dating service is what kind of relationship(s) youre looking for. Some services, including top dating sites like Yahoo! Personals (singles dating) and eHarmony (soulmates) focus on one type of relationship only. The advantage of choosing a dating service thats dedicated to a particular type of relationship is that everyone will be on exactly the same page as you are in terms of intentions. If youre not clear what your intentions are, you might be better choosing a dating service where members can pursue different types of relationships within the same site. Again theres no shortage of choice. However, at some multi-relationship services its not immediately clear whos looking for what and up to you to figure it out, using the search tools. If this sounds like trouble (and it can be), choose a service like Lavalife which has separate communities within the site for each type of relationship. Members Think about the type of person you want to meet. Are you open-minded, in which case a mainstream service will be fine, or do you have a lengthy list of must haves regarding your perfect match? If you have set ideas about the type of person youd like to meet, finding them in a mainstream service could be like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. (By mainstream, I mean that members are as diverse as the general population.) Instead, consider choosing a relationship service that specializes in bringing people together who have something very specific in common — religion, political beliefs, ethnicity, body size, certain lifestyles, you name it. Simply run a search for dating (or matchmaking, or marriage) plus whatever youre looking for (vegetarian, republican, biker) and its almost certain youll find a relationship service to match. Matchmaking features Dating sites have thousands if not millions of members so good search tools are important. However, its still up to you search out your perfect match and not everyone has time for this. Luckily many dating services have matchmaking features (more sophisticated search tools) that will help you find the one quickly and easily. Matchmaking features range from the very simple, based on profiles and/or basic wish lists, to the sophisticated, based on personality and other tests as well as more detailed profiles and wish lists. Unless youre unusually picky (or just very unusual), these one-click options will typically churn up a good selection of possible matches on a regular basis — popular dating services attract many new members a day. You can usually opt to have these matchmaking searches run automatically on a regular basis and receive new match details by email — another time-saver. At some services, matchmaking features are part of a complete matchmaking service where the selection process is much stricter, usually because theyre geared towards serious relationships. Typically youll receive just a handful of potential partners over a length of time. For example, eHarmony (designed to help people into marriage) advises clients not to expect more than one or two matches a month. To accept this level of matchmaking you have to be happy with the idea of letting the experts have the final say about whos right for you and whos not. Tests Online dating services are about much more than dating. Theyre also an opportunity to gain some valuable insights into yourself and the type of person youre looking to meet which could help improve your love life, online and off. If this appeals to you, choose a dating service with personality and other tests for members to take. For the most part, larger, well established online dating services have the most insightful and detailed personality tests because they have more resources to put into their design. Almost all personality tests are free to take and at many sites matchmaking tools draw on the results to find members who are compatible with each other. So, by taking several tests and judging the results, youll get a good idea of which site is going to do the best job of helping you find your perfect match. After all, if the results are a true reflection of what youre like, theyll be a true reflection of potential matches too. Communications There are two levels of communication to consider when choosing a dating service — what you get for free and what you get as a paying member. On both fronts, some services offer a lot more than others. Free communications matter because they let you get to know someone, or at least that the interest is mutual, before you spring for a subscription. (A subscription will let you communicate as much as you like.) At most services, free communications are limited to flirty icons and preset messages that members send to each other, but search around. Some services are much more generous than others. Once you subscribe, the norm for communicating is by on-site email and instant messaging. Many of the top dating services, Yahoo! Personals included, have stuck with this simple set up and show no sign of changing any time soon. Others, like Match.com, are continuously adopting new technologies to offer members more communications options. Typically you’ll pay more so think about whether or not you really need to to be able to access their services anytime, anywhere. Entertainment Think about what sort of experience youd like to have with online dating services. Do you intend to focus on finding your perfect match or would you like to enjoy other activities as well? Many services offer entertainment features including light-hearted quizzes and polls, contests, articles and newsletters, as well as chat rooms and the option to sign up to meet new friends as well as dates. Offline activities If the idea of meeting someone online then having to meet them face-to-face at some stage is a little intimidating, look for a dating service that helps members meet and mingle, casually and as part of a group, offline too. Though some dating services go as far as offering singles holidays, offline activities usually involve meeting for concerts, shows and other events in your area or elsewhere. You can get that all-important feel for someone in relaxed atmosphere with plenty of food for conversation and make as much or as little of the occasion as you like. If you havent met someone yet, offline activities are an opportunity to meet someone you might like to continue chatting with online, with the advantage that youve already met. International dating If youre away from your native country, would like to chat in your native language or are planning to relocate or travel to a different country, some of the more established and successful online dating services have extended their services into countries other than the US. For example, Yahoo! Personals has a new Canadian service while Match.com is live in 27 different countries. Cost & Payment Options Most online dating services charge about the same for a subscription — between $20 and $25 a month — so cost isnt going to be much of a deciding factor when choosing a dating service. Instead, look for value — services might charge about the same but there are big differences in what you get for your money. Also, check out payment options. Several dating services accept money orders and checks as well as the usual credit cards. Find out what discounts will be available if you sign up for several months at once, and if any special offers are available. Finally on this one, look for free trials and try out all the extra subscriber features before committing to a subscription. More resources to help you choose a dating service When youve drawn up a checklist of what youd like in a dating service (and hopefully this article has helped) choosing a dating service will be a lot easier. You can compare your checklist to dating service reviews and, for more specific details, explore FAQs, help pages and take a tour options (all good dating services have these). And dont forget, signing up is free and you can usually explore sites without having to post a profile first. Most of all, though its important to choose a dating service thats right for you, one youll enjoy using and are mostly like to have success with, choosing a dating service should be fun. If one dating service doesnt work out for you, move on and choose another!
